NAME: Aura Canlar
AGE: 15
SPEICES: Ummm....Witch.
PARENTS: Peter Canlar and Elia Loring
HISTORY: She was born in a small rural town. She basically raised herself, and refused most company. She got her first tattoo at age 12, and has been getting them ever since. She has a natural talent for magic and tends to use it for non-personal reasons.
LOOKS: Aura has tattoos covering her body. On her face she has a black celtic knot over her brow, and a silver swirly thing on her left cheek and jawbone. You cannot really tell her skin color, but it is a dark brown. Her eyes are a blueish violet color. Her hair is whitish, almost silvery. She wears black clothing.
PERSONAILTY: Aura is mainly a depressing person. She tends to get on the wrong side of people. Her moods are as follows: annoyed, annoying and ticked at the world in general.
ESSAY: This is part of my English book report, becouse i have nothing better to do.
I read Gathering Blue, by Lois Lowry. The book was about a crippled orphan girl named Kira. Her mother dies at the beginning of the book. She has never known her father, he was killed before she was born. Kira is taken in by the Council of Elders, a respected village group. She is to repair the Singers robe, then add more events on it. Each year the Singer sings of the disaster; the time period is in the future. He/she sings of what happened to the world. This happens each year and all in the town and in the Fen must attend.
Kira meets a young girl named Jen, who is to be the future Singer. A boy named Tomas is the Carver; he carves the Singer’s staff. Matt, one of Kira’s village friends, goes to search for a gift. He brings back blue threads-the only color Kira couldn’t make. Along with the blue, he brings Kira’s father. He is blinded, the cuts intended to kill him.
The novel takes place in a village, in the future. Instead of progressing society has regressed. Everyone lives in fear of the ‘beasts’- made up to keep people from wandering. The village is split up into two communities, the village and the fen. In the Fen everyone is hungry, and you bargain for everything. The village dwellers are well fed, and each have a role in the community. At the edge of the whole town is The Field, where the dead or dying are left to be mourned and taken by the beasts.
In the center of the town is a giant building, remaining from the present ea. I believe it may have been a capitol building, a church, or the White House. This is where Kira is taken and where the Council of Elders reside. They have a cross on an altar, so it is probably a church. They know the cross was important, as it is called ‘The worship item’.
I can add more if you want.
